One of three brothers held in a county jail in September 1893 was taken from the jail by a mob and hanged, according to the Rock Island Daily Argus of September 18, 1893. The paper says the brothers were held because they were relatives of a man sought after a fatal shooting.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A newspaper account says a mob took one of three brothers from a jail and hanged him.
