On May 31, 1895, about 50 masked men took three Black men from the guards who were transporting them to a jail in Florida, according to The Weiser Signal. The mob carried the men into a swamp, where all three were killed. A fourth man was beaten and ordered to leave the area.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. The Weiser Signal reported that about 50 masked men took three Black men from guards while they were being transported to a Florida jail and killed them in a swamp.
