Died in jail or a lockup
Name not reported
The first name of this man is illegible in the historical newspaper text, so he is known only as a man held in a Tennessee jail. The Elmore Bulletin, which reported it on December 4, 1895, said a mob took him from the jail and killed him in November 1895. The paper also said a second man, named McGahey, was held in the same jail and taken by the same mob. A telephone message later reported that the jail had been stormed and the prisoners lynched.
