A 66-year-old man died on August 22, 2016, while held at the California Medical Facility, a state prison in Vacaville, California. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said he was found unresponsive and face down in a dormitory at the prison hospital around 10:35 p.m. and was pronounced dead at 11:14 p.m. His name was withheld pending notification of his next of kin, and the department said prison officials are investigating the death as a possible homicide. The Solano County coroner and district attorney are also investigating.
