A woman died on October 21, 2026, while held at the Hampton Community Corrections Center in Hampton. The sheriff's office said a deputy found her unresponsive in a restrictive housing cell around 6:30 p.m. The sheriff's office and the Hampton Police Division are investigating, and officials said there were no indications of foul play. The sheriff's office has not released her name.
