A man whose name was not recorded was one of several men reportedly taken from officers by vigilantes near Bumeyville, in the Chickasaw nation, in November 1886, according to a Fort Smith, Arkansas telegram cited by The Iowa Plain Dealer. The telegram says he was hanged along with four named men.
Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A Fort Smith, Ark. telegram cited as good authority says vigilantes took the men from officers and hanged them.
