A patient at the Treasure Coast Forensic Treatment Center, a privately run Florida hospital that houses people found incompetent to stand trial or not guilty by reason of insanity, died in 2016 after an attack by another patient. A TCPalm investigation published in January 2018 lists the death as a homicide and counts 87 reported batteries at the facility since 2007. The person who died is not named in the account.
