A 64-year-old man died while held at San Diego Central Jail in San Diego, California, on May 25, 2022. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department said he was found unresponsive in his single-occupancy cell on the seventh floor shortly after midnight. He was pronounced dead just before 1 a.m. The sheriff's department said the cause of death was unknown and an autopsy was scheduled.
