A report datelined San Antonio, Texas, and published in the Daily Republican on December 10, 1883, says that one of four Mexican men held in the jail at Fort Davis, Texas, was taken from the jail by a mob and lynched. The man is not named in the account. The date of the killing is not given in the report.
