According to Governor Glenn of North Carolina, speaking in an address on mob violence, a person held in the jail at Salisbury, North Carolina, was taken from the jail by a mob and lynched. The governor said the state must not see a repeat of those events. This person was one of three people the governor described as taken from the Salisbury jail and killed.
