A 41-year-old woman died on June 27, 2024, after she was found unresponsive in a housing cell at the Garland County Detention Center, where she was being held. The Garland County Sheriff's Office said she was found around 10:37 p.m. that Thursday and that there were no apparent signs of trauma. She was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The sheriff's office has not given a cause of death.
