A Black man, whose name is not given, was taken from an officer by a mob near Little Rock, Arkansas, and killed on February 20, 1884, according to a short item in the Arizona Silver Belt published March 1, 1884. The item does not say where he was being held or how the mob reached him. It also does not say whether the officer resisted, gave up the keys or handed him over.
