The Tombstone Epitaph reported on January 9, 1882, that three brothers were being held in the jail at Graham, Texas. On January 2, 1882, they attempted to escape from that jail. The attempt ended in deaths, including the brothers' own and that of a deputy sheriff. The account gives no names for the men who died.
