According to a brief telegraphic report in the Sacramento Daily Record-Union, a mob took one of three men from the jail at Las Lunas, New Mexico, on Friday night, October 7, 1881, and hanged him. The report gives no name, age or other details about him. It also does not say whether jail staff resisted the mob or handed the men over.
