A 50-year-old man died on October 8, 2021, while held at the Bob Wiley Detention Facility in Visalia, California, according to the Tulare County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office said correctional officers found him having a medical emergency, and emergency medical staff gave him first aid but could not save him. The Homicide Unit took over the investigation, and the sheriff's office said the cause of death will be determined by an autopsy. His name has not been released pending notification of his family.
