A man, the brother of Robert Richardson, was held at the Linden jail in Marengo County, Alabama, when he died in 1906. The Montgomery Advertiser reported that he was found dead in his cell one morning, hanging from the cell door. According to the article, he had made a rope during the night, kicked a stool away and strangled himself, and had been dead for some hours when he was found.
