A 58-year-old woman died in her cell in the medical housing unit of the Snohomish County Jail in Everett, Washington, on April 22, 2026. The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said a corrections deputy found her unresponsive during routine checks. Her name has not been released, and the Medical Examiner's Office will determine her identity, cause of death and manner of death. The sheriff's office said an unexpected fatality review and a separate investigation will follow.
