A 48-year-old man died on December 30, 2025, at the King County Correctional Facility in downtown Seattle, a few days after he was taken into custody there. The Department of Adult & Juvenile Detention says a jail officer found him unresponsive in his housing unit around 6 a.m., and he was pronounced dead at about 6:30 a.m. The King County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death, and the department and Public Health - Seattle & King County will conduct an internal investigation.
