A 26-year-old man died on June 26, 2026, while held at the King County Correctional Facility in downtown Seattle. According to the King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention, an officer found him during a headcount in a ninth-floor housing unit shortly before 11 p.m. The King County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet determined the cause or manner of death. The department said it will conduct an internal investigation.
