Two men died at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Norfolk in September 2025, on September 20 and September 27. The Massachusetts Department of Correction told The Boston Globe that both deaths appeared to be suicides, while the department told MassLive that both followed medical emergencies, with no foul play believed and the cause and manner still under investigation. An attorney for clients at the prison identified the two men as Christopher Stiles and Robert McNickles and said both had been housed in a behavioral assessment unit.
