A man in his 30s died on October 23, 2024, while held at the Wyandotte County Detention Center in Kansas City, Kansas. The Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office said he died of a medical emergency but has not described what it was. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The sheriff's office has not released his name, saying it needs to speak with his family first. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death.
