A 65-year-old man died on September 18, 2023, while in Sedgwick County custody in Kansas. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said he was housed in the medical infirmary for ongoing medical problems and was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital. The sheriff's office said his condition worsened there and he was pronounced dead around 8 p.m. The sheriff's office said an autopsy will be performed and his family has been notified, and his name has been withheld at the family's request.
