Conway police took a 35-year-old man into custody and brought him to the Faulkner County Detention Center. Medical staff at the jail sent him to a local emergency department for further evaluation, and he was pronounced dead there around 7:13 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026. The Conway Police Department asked the Arkansas State Police to investigate and opened its own administrative review, and the officer involved has been placed on administrative leave. The cause and manner of death have not been determined.
