A person died at the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor, Maine, on Sunday, September 25, 2022. According to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office, a correctional officer found them in a life-threatening situation during a routine check around 5 a.m., and medical personnel could not revive them. The sheriff's office said the death was not the result of an altercation with another person held at the jail.
