A 32-year-old man held at the Union County jail in Monroe, North Carolina, died on February 11, 2022. According to the county sheriff's office, an officer found him unresponsive during morning meal service, and he was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The State Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the death, and the sheriff's office said it does not suspect foul play. His name had not been released when the report was published.
