A 46-year-old man died on May 6, 2026, after being held at the Lake Region Correctional Facility in Devils Lake, North Dakota. The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office said the death followed an apparent suicide attempt, and he was later pronounced dead. InForum reported that it was the second apparent suicide at the jail in about three months. The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating, and his name has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.
