A man in his thirties died at a hospital on February 11, 2024, after being taken there from the Sedgwick County Jail in Wichita, Kansas, where he had been held. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said he was taken to the hospital for chronic medical problems and that hospital staff tried to treat him, though his condition had very little chance of survival. The sheriff's office said it arranged a family visit for him on February 8, before he died. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the sheriff's investigations division were notified of the death.
