A man in his late seventies died on July 7, 2024, after being held at the Falkenburg Road Jail in Hillsborough County, Florida. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said he had recently been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and other health issues, and that he was awaiting transfer to a state hospital. The sheriff's office said he was found unresponsive late on a Sunday night and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
