A 45-year-old man held at the Sedgwick County Detention Facility in Wichita, Kansas, was found unresponsive in his housing pod on February 25, 2024, and KWCH reported that he appeared to be in cardiac arrest. He was taken to a local hospital, where his family visited him before doctors determined he would not recover. After the family chose to remove life support, he died on February 27, 2024. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office are reviewing the death, and its manner has not yet been determined.
