A man, 44, died on July 23, 2018, at Sangamon County Jail, in the custody of the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office. The death was reported to the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, which does not publish the names of the people who died. Its report says: “On 7/22/2018, doctor's at St. John's Hospital spoke with the subject family and the decision was made to end life support. On 7/22/2018 at approximately 23:45, medical staff at St. ohn's Hospital CVICU began removing life support. On 7/23/2018 at approximately 00:15, the subject passed away.”
