A 47-year-old woman from St. Louis was held at the Pulaski County Correctional Center in Ullin, Illinois, where she was found unresponsive in her cell on July 14, 2022. She was taken to an area hospital and then transferred to a hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois, where she died on July 18. The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating her death with help from the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. The cause of death has not been determined, and an autopsy is pending.
