One of three brothers named Goodrich, this man was held in a jail when, in the early morning, a mob came and took him and his brothers from their cells, according to the Vicksburg Weekly Herald. The mob overpowered the jailer, and officers were unable to resist them. The men were hanged a short distance from the jail. The newspaper reported that no one seemed to know where the mob came from or where it went.
