A Black man held in a Tennessee jail was taken from it at night by a mob and hanged, according to a Pine Bluff Daily Graphic report datelined September 4, 1915. The report says the mob first took him, then he was returned to the jail, and a mob later seized him again and hanged him. Whether jail staff resisted the mob, gave up keys, or handed him over is not described in the account.
