This man was held in the Sebastian County jail in Arkansas, and in early August 1874 he was among the prisoners who broke out of it. A posse fired on the escapees and killed one posse member, and he was recaptured and returned to the jail. On the night of August 3, 1874, about two hundred people took him from the jail and hanged him.
