No name is recorded for this man, who was one of three men held in the Florence, Alabama jail when a mob took them out and hanged them on September 5, 1872, according to the Opelousas Journal's editorial. The Kentucky Gazette reports that armed guards at the jail fired on the attackers but did not stop them, and a Montgomery Advertiser report from Florence says it had no information about who carried out the hanging.
