A person held at Greensville Correctional Center in Jarratt, Virginia, died on April 7, 2026, according to a spokesperson for the Virginia Department of Corrections. The department had not disclosed a cause of death when the report was published. WTVR reported that this death followed a February death at the same prison, which the report counts as the 69th death there in three years.
