A 47-year-old man died on July 1, 2022, at Sentara RMH hospital, where he had been taken from the Rockingham Harrisonburg Regional Jail in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he was held. According to reporting by WMRA Public Radio, he attempted suicide at the jail in early June 2022 and was hospitalized for weeks before his death. The Virginia State Police said there was no indication of foul play and that the death appeared self-inflicted.
