A 44-year-old man from Hearne died at the Brazos County Jail in Bryan, Texas, on May 13, 2022. The Brazos County Sheriff's Office said he was found in medical distress just before 8 a.m. and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan, where he was pronounced dead at 8:53 a.m. The sheriff's office attributes the death to a medical emergency, and it said an internal investigation and a Texas Rangers investigation are underway, with the cause and manner not yet determined.
