According to Bandera County Sheriff Josh Teitge, a person died on March 31, 2026, while held at the Bandera County Jail in Texas. The sheriff's office said the person collapsed after telling staff they were not feeling well. The sheriff's office attributed the death to a medical emergency and said the person could not be revived. The sheriff requested a Texas Rangers investigation, and the manner of death is pending. The sheriff's office said the person's name will be withheld until the autopsy is complete.
