A fourteen-year-old boy held in a Mississippi jail was taken from it by a mob and killed in 1942. Another fourteen-year-old boy was taken from a jail and killed in the same way the week before. The Justice Department was said to be angry about the killings, and the attorney general was said to be sending investigators.
