A man held at the Bulloch County Jail died on Thursday, September 13, 2018. According to chief deputy Jared Akins of the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office, deputies found him unresponsive in his single-person cell during a routine count that evening. Deputies called for medical help, and he was pronounced dead a short time later. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating under its standard policy, and an autopsy was scheduled for the following day.
