A man died at the Wood County Jail in Quitman, Texas, on November 3, 2026. The Wood County Sheriff's Office said he was found unresponsive in his cell around noon during routine cell checks. He was taken to UT Health in Quitman, where he was pronounced dead. The Texas Rangers are investigating the death.
