A person died while held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County, according to ABC Columbia's report of April 9, 2026. The Richland County Sheriff's Department said deputies are investigating the death. The same report says the department is also looking into a separate incident at the facility, in which another person was stabbed.
