The Tulare County Sheriff's Office said a 44-year-old man held at the Tulare County Sheriff's Department Pre-Trial Facility in Visalia died on April 18, 2025. According to the office, he told staff he felt ill around 2:30 a.m., and medical staff evaluated him and medically cleared him about 30 minutes later. He was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency medical services were called to the cell, and detectives are investigating. The cause of death has not been determined, and the sheriff's office said an autopsy will establish it.
