A 59-year-old man died at the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose on February 4, 2024. The Sheriff's Office listed the death as natural and attributed it to congestive heart failure. Another account said he was found unresponsive in his cell that Sunday morning and was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly before noon. The Sheriff's Office said it did not believe foul play occurred, and the District Attorney's Office and the coroner were investigating the death.
