A man held at the St. Martin Parish Jail in Louisiana died on July 12, 2020. The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office said correctional officers found him unresponsive in his bunk during rounds on a Sunday evening. He was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after arriving there. The sheriff's office is investigating, and the official cause of death is pending an autopsy.
