Officials had not released the name of the woman who died after an encounter with police at a golf complex in Sacramento in November 2024. Officers handcuffed her and placed her in the back seat of a patrol car, where she became unresponsive. Fire department crews took her to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead on November 24, 2024. Officials said a death-in-custody investigation had begun.
