A 41-year-old woman died at the Minnehaha County Jail in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on June 7, 2023. The Minnehaha County sheriff's office said staff found her unresponsive in her cell during a routine check, and paramedics could not revive her. The county coroner had not yet determined a cause of death, and the state Division of Criminal Investigation was reviewing the death. The sheriff's office said no foul play was suspected.
