A man in his forties died in July 2021 while held at Eastern Correctional Institution in Westover, Maryland. According to the State of Maryland, he was found unresponsive in his cell about an hour after another death at the same prison. He was pronounced dead at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. The state said the investigation is ongoing and that it does not suspect foul play.
