A person held in the medical unit of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Clarksburg, Maryland, was found unresponsive on January 9, 2024. The Montgomery County Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said facility medical staff and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue tried to save them. The person died the next day at Holy Cross Hospital. Police Homicide Unit's preliminary review did not suggest foul play, and the medical examiner has not yet confirmed a cause of death.
